AFTER the successful completion of Yonex-Sunrise GH Raisoni Memorial Nagpur District Summer Amateur Badminton Tournament, Nagpur District Badminton Association (NDBA) is gearing up for another competition in the same category. The association will be organising Kishor Zanzad memorial Yonex-Sunrise Nagpur District Summer Amateur Badminton Tournament from May 15. The competition will be held at NMC Badminton Hall, behind Sai Mandir, Wardha Road. The three-day competition will see matches in men and women’s singles, doubles mixed doubles, Under-17 boys singles, Under-17 girls singles, men and women 35+ singles, doubles, and mixed doubles in 35+ age categories. Prizes worth Rs 1,84,000 will be distributed to the winners and runners-up in all the above mentioned categories. According to rules, a player can participate in not more than three events.
 
To give a level playing field to the amateur players, the semi-finalists, runners-ups and winners of regular NDBA calendar tournaments (any year) will not be allowed to participate in the summer amateur tournament. However, winner and runners-up of any Nagpur District Amateur Summer Badminton Tournament can take part in the competition. Yatharth Mesharm will be the referee for the competition. An organising committee has been formed under NDBA President Kundatai Vijaykar. The committee members include Mangesh Kashikar, Senior VP Maharashtra Badminton Association and Secretary, NDBA, Anand Sancheti, Amit Bajaj, Shriram Purohit, Bhavna Agrey, Kunal Zanzad of KK Group, Sandip Saini, Anant Apte, Anand Kasrekar, Gurdeep Singh Arora, Madhavi Kashikar-Hedaoo, Neha Gosavi, Nikhil Tokde, Bhavesh Deshmukh, Ashwin Harkare and Sneha Faizpurkar.
