After a long wait, JDA gets new Chairman, Vice-Chairman, BJP leader Sandeep Jain was sworn in as Chairman and Prashant Kesharwani as Vice-Chairman in a grand ceremony

After a gap of several years, Jabalpur Development Authority (JDA) finally got its new Chairman and Vice-Chairman on Thursday. BJP leader Sandeep Jain was sworn in as Chairman and Prashant Kesharwani as Vice-Chairman in a grand ceremony held at Vande Mataram Chowk, Civic Centre. Public Works Department Minister Rakesh Singh was the chief guest at the event.
The programme started with chanting of mantras by saints, lighting of lamps by guests and a soulful rendition of the national song Vande Mataram by Natya Lok organisation. Both office-bearers assumed charge by signing official documents at an auspicious time of 12 noon.
Speaking on the occasion, State PWD Minister Rakesh Singh said that this appointment was not merely an administrative decision, but a long awaited step towards expediting development of Jabalpur. He expressed confidence that JDA will now live up to its name and march in step with the city’s growth.
Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh called the day historic for Jabalpur, saying that the city’s development would now gain fresh momentum.
City President Ratnesh Sonkar, MLA Ashok Rohani and other senior BJP leaders also addressed the event. They said Sandeep Jain had worked silently and dedicatedly for the party and society for years and this appointment was a well deserved reward. They added that under their leadership, JDA will write a new chapter of development in the city.
After taking charge, Chairman Sandeep Jain said that the motto of JDA would be ‘Our effort, our city’s development’. He pledged that the authority will play a key role in providing basic facilities to citizens and contributing to the city’s overall growth.
Vice-Chairman Prashant Kesharwani said that the party had honoured ordinary workers by giving them
important responsibilities and he would work sincerely to help make Jabalpur a major city. A large number of senior public representatives including MP, MLAs, District and City BJP office bearers, JDA CEO Deepak Vaidya and other senior officials. Social, trade and civic organisations also welcomed and felicitated the newly appointed leaders.
