In a major push to boost the city’s ranking in Swachh Survekshan 2026, Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has organised a grand ‘Swachhata Jan Jagrukta Rally’. Hundreds of citizens, public representatives and JMC officials participated in the event. The rally was led by Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh and marched through the city’s important thoroughfares. It started from Civil Line Chowk and concluded at Ambedkar Chowk.
Participants carried placards with cleanliness messages and raised awareness slogans throughout the route.
Public representatives including all Mayor-in-council members, corporators and Municipal
Commissioner Ramprakash Ahirwar joined the march, carrying cleanliness banners and boosting the morale of participants.
At the conclusion of the rally, Mayor Singh paid floral tributes at the statues of martyred tribal heroes Raja Shankar Shah, Kunwar Raghnath Shah and Constitution maker Dr B R Ambedkar. He said that following the ideals of great personalities is the only path to building a healthy and developed society. Addressing the gathering, the Mayor said cleanliness is not merely a campaign, it is a value. He said only when every citizen takes personal responsibility will our Sanskardhani top Swachh Survekshan rankings. JMC administration thanked all participants and citizens for making the event a success.
