Forward Akshay Pandey toyed with Buldhana defence line as he slammed five goals to help Nagpur thrash them 7-0 and move into the pre-quarterfinals of the ongoing Maharashtra State (WIFA) Inter-District Football Championship for Junior Boys at Shirpur in Dhule.
In the last 16 battle, Nagpur will clash with Akola on Friday.
It was a one-sided battle with Nagpur boys dominating the proceedings from the word go.
Pandey opened the floodgates in the third minute of play and from then on there was no looking back for the Nagpur side.
The stiker doubled the lead in the 25th minute and then added another in the 35th to take the match away from a hapless Buldhana side.
Before the change of ends, Pandey added another to his and team’s kitty scoring the fourth goal in the 41st minute.
At the stroke of lemon break, Soham Neware struck the fifth from the pass of Pandey.
At the hour mark (60th), Pandey completed his tally of five goals and then Samuel Francis fired in the seventh goal for Nagpur in the 70th minute after a pass from Humayl Sheikh.
