Following the conclusion of the digital self-enumeration phase, the second stage of the 16th National Census is set to commence across the city from Saturday. Under the theme ‘Census for Public Welfare,’ this phase involves physical house-listing and the collection of detailed family information.

The city has been divided into 3,992 house-listing blocks to streamline the data collection process. A dedicated workforce of 4,500 enumerators and 700 supervisors has been deployed to conduct door-to-door visits from May 16 to June 14. These officials will utilise the ‘House Listing Operation Application App’ (HLO) to record information digitally, starting with creating layout maps of their assigned areas and assigning house numbers. Each enumerator is responsible for collecting data from approximately 800 citizens.

Guidelines for citizens Citizens who completed their self-enumeration between May 1 and May 15 must provide their 11-digit SE ID to the enumerators. Residents are encouraged to provide accurate answers regarding their household status and family details to assist the officials. Ahead of the launch, administrative meetings have been held, including a recent session for the Dharampeth Zone at Valmiki Higher Primary School, to resolve potential challenges and guide supervisors on the field process.
