Secretary of the Department of Land Resources, Government of India, Narendra Bhushan on Friday paid a courtesy visit to Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary Vikas Sheel at Mahanadi
Bhawan in Raipur.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on watershed management, the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY), the State’s Bhuiyan land records portal, registration and stamp reforms, e-courts, and other governance innovations being implemented in Chhattisgarh.
Later, Bhushan chaired a review meeting with officials of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Commercial Tax (Registration and Stamps) Department, and the Chhattisgarh State Watershed Area Management Agency to assess departmental activities and progress.
Revenue and Disaster Management Secretary Shammi Abidi informed the meeting that land records in the state have been fully computerised. Modern record rooms have been established, while land maps have also been digitised. Revenue cases are being resolved through the Revenue e-Court system. The Bhuiyan portal has been updated with digital farmer passbooks, enabling landowners to download land-related information online.
The state has also introduced an online auto-diversion system for land use conversion.
Officials of the Registration and Stamps Department highlighted that document registration is now being carried out through an e-registration system using modern technology. The registration process has been simplified, made transparent, and largely paperless. Documents can now be submitted online to sub-registrars, while WhatsApp alerts provide buyers and sellers with updates from appointment scheduling to final registration. Registered document copies can also be downloaded through WhatsApp.
The Chhattisgarh State Watershed Area Management
Agency informed that under the Watershed Development Component of PMKSY, 45 projects were approved during 2021-22, covering 387 micro watersheds across 43 development blocks in 27 districts. The projects cover a treatment area of 2.5 lakh hectares with a total cost of Rs 613.66 crore. The Centre-State funding ratio for the scheme is 60:40. Officials further stated that the projects, originally scheduled from 2021-22 to 2025-26, have now been extended up to September 30, 2026.
The Government of India released a central share of Rs 30.14 crore on April 28, 2026, for continuation of the projects.
The meeting was attended by Commercial Tax (Registration) Secretary Bhuvnesh Yadav, Joint Secretary in the Department of Land Resources Nitin Khade, Director of Land Resources Shyam Kumar, along with senior officials from various state departments.
