Besa-Pipla Nagar Panchayat is going to strengthen sports infrastructure in the area with the development of modern multi-sport skill development centres, aimed to promote fitness and professional sports training among youth. Two major projects - a Futsal arena at Ghogali and a Badminton complex near IT Park, Harihar Nagar, are currently under development and are expected to provide residents with advanced sporting facilities. Besa-Beltarodi-Pipla-GotalPanjri-Ghogali that lie on the South-West direction of the city is fast emerging as major suburb and the two new sports projects would fulfill long standing need for the same, feel the citizens. The first project, a Futsal skill development centre, is coming up at Shivtirth Nagar, Ghogali, behind Wasudeo Celebration Hall. It is being built at a cost of Rs 58,53,510.

The project is in its final stage and is expected to be completed within a week. The facility has been planned as a multipurpose sports arena. Apart from Futsal, a fast-paced variant of football played between teams of five players on a smaller court, the space can also be used for basketball, cricket, and also, badminton activities. Bharat Nandanwar, Chief Officer (CO), Besa-Pipla Nagar Panchayat, stated that, the centre is expected to benefit youngsters from nearby residential areas by providing dedicated sports space and encouraging participation in structured physical activities. Residents believe that, such facilities are essential as urbanisation continues to reduce the availability of open playgrounds. Badminton Centre: Another major project planned is near the erstwhile Lambent IT Park at Harihar Nagar. The Badminton Skill Development Centre is being constructed at the cost of Rs 1,89,41,100, and is expected to be ready within the next three to four months.

The complex will feature two badminton courts along with a gymnasium, locker rooms, separate changing rooms and toilets for men and women, a cafeteria, and a waiting lobby. According to the officials, the projects are aimed at creating quality sports infrastructure at the local level and encouraging youth to take up sports and fitness activities. These centres are also expected to serve as training spaces for budding athletes and recreational hubs for residents. The entry will remain free initially and more new skills centres are underway. Besa-Pipla has emerged as one of the fast-developing urban areas and the sports facility would address the shortcoming that most families faced when they came to reside here.

The two sports arenas would fill up the vacuum and provide people with much-needed space to hone their sporting skills. A main grievance of the people residing in these areas is lack of major open spaces, as layout sanctioned here is all in violation of established rules and regulations. But, the Nagar Panchayat can do little about the violation as they were all done in past, so they are trying to make up for that by going for indoor sports facility, that would ensure round-the-year availability. At present, a badminton facility is in place on Ghogali Road, but same is private one.
