Legal Correspondent :
The legal battle in Bhopal’s much-talked-about Twisha Sharma murder mystery has now reached the High Court. The main accused, Samarth Singh, has filed a petition for
anticipatory bail in the Jabalpur bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
Previously, the Bhopal District Court had rejected his anticipatory bail application. The accused approached the High Court after failing to get relief from the lower court. The petition filed in this high-profile case has once again sparked discussion across the State. Meanwhile, following the accused’s anticipatory bail application, the victim’s family has also become active. The victim’s side has filed an application in the Jabalpur High Court, requesting that Samarth Singh not be granted anticipatory bail under any circumstances.
They have also requested the court to cancel the bail of Twisha Sharma’s mother-in-law, retired judge Giribala Singh. The victim’s family argues that granting relief to the accused could impact the impartial investigation and evidence in the case. Based on this, they have demanded a strict stance from the court.
According to reports, the anticipatory bail petition filed by Samarth Singh has been listed in the High Court, although it has not yet been included in any judge’s cause list.
It is believed that the case may be heard next Monday. All eyes are now on the Jabalpur High Court, where arguments from both sides will determine whether the accused, Samarth Singh, will be granted
anticipatory bail.
