Dhanashree Kampthe of Rising Sprinting Club and Rushikesh of Nav-Maharashtra Krida Mandal emerged fastest runners in women and men’s 100 metres categories, respectively, on the last day of the District Senior Athletics Championship at RTMNU Synthetic track on Friday. Dhanashree crossed the finish line in 12.84 seconds to claim the gold medal in 100 metres event. Nagshawari of Nav-Maharashtra Krida Mandal finished second in 13.02s while Sayogita Misar of SB City ended third. Foundation won silver with 11.03 seconds. The bronze medal went to Neville Krishnan of Future Athletics who completed the distance in 11.22 secs Bhavyashree Mahalle of NMKM claimed the 1500 metres gold with a time of 4:49.81 seconds. This was her third successive gold in the same event. The silver medal was won by Janhvi Bawane of Track Star club who completed the race in 4:57.22 sec while Nandini Jadhav of HTKBS won bronze with a time of 6:23.46 seconds. In the men’s section, Gaurav Khodatkar of NMKM won the gold medal with a time of 4:00.30s, Madhav Gupta, also of same club, won silver (4:11.17s) and Pranay Sonwane of Khel Foundation won bronze with 4:16.79s. Arya Kore of NMKM won the gold medal in women’s 400m clocking a time of 1:01.58s. Bhuvaneshwari Masram won silver while Astha Nikot won bronze.
