a top-notch display of endurance and willpower, city athlete Gaurav Khemka successfully completed the prestigious Ironman 70.3 Western Sydney in Australia, recently, bringing laurels to Nagpur and inspiring the local sporting fraternity. The Ironman 70.3, known as one of the most gruelling endurance tests in the world, comprises a 1.9 km swim, 90 km cycling and a 21.1 kilometre run. Gaurav braved the challenging conditions through months of rigorous training, unflinching determination and meticulous preparation to cross the finish line with pride. “This was not just a race, but a journey of self-belief and resilience.
 
Every stage tested me physically and mentally, but crossing the finish line made every sacrifice worthwhile,” said Gaurav after the event. Gaurav credited his success to the guidance of his Ironman coach, Pankaj Ravalu, whose structured training and constant motivation played a pivotal role in his preparation. He also extended heartfelt thanks to his mentor Amit Samarth for laying the strong foundation of his endurance journey and providing continuous encouragement over the years. Ashwin Mokashi and Sanjay Batwe for their technical expertise and unwavering support. Gaurav also thanked his physiotherapist Kevin Agrawal for keeping him injury-free and race-ready. The young athlete further acknowledged the constant motivation provided by his running community friends and family members, whose support proved invaluable during the demanding preparation phase.
