A review meeting and training session for observers and centre superintendents regarding UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination to be held on May 24 was conducted at the Red Cross auditorium. The meeting was attended by IAS officers Mahadeo Kawre and Ritesh Agrawal as observers, along with Collector Dr Gaurav Singh. Officials informed that for the first time candidates will be permitted entry into examination centres through face authentication.
Sharing his views, Observer Mahadeo Kawre said that the UPSC examination is one of the country’s most prestigious competitive exams and there should be no scope for any error in its conduct.
He advised candidates to reach their examination centres well before time to avoid any inconvenience. Observer Ritesh Agrawal instructed all supervisors to visit their respective centres before the examination and inspect all required facilities. Chairing the meeting, Collector Dr Gaurav Singh directed officials to ensure all basic facilities at the examination centres and maintain strict law and order during the examination. During the meeting, candidates were informed that only black ballpoint pens will be permitted in the examination hall. Entry to the examination centres will close at 9 am for the first session and at 2 pm for the second session, after which no candidate will be allowed to enter under any circumstances.
Collector also instructed that no noise pollution should be allowed within a 500-metre radius of the examination centres and warned that any attempt to disrupt the examination process would invite strict action. All candidates must produce their e-admit card along with the same photo identity proof mentioned in the application form. Showing a photograph of the e-admit card on a mobile phone will not be accepted for entry into the examination hall.
Collector Dr Gaurav Singh directed officials to carefully study and follow all instructions related to distribution and collection of text booklets. He directed officials to submit reports of all 22 examination centres on time.
Additional Collector Naveen Thakur, Deputy Collector Upendra Kindo, District Employment Officer Kedar Patel, observers from UPSC New Delhi and other officials were also present during the meeting.
Candidates have been instructed to carry printed e-admit cards along with the same original photo identity proof mentioned in their application forms, as mobile phone display of admit cards will not be accepted
