Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, on Monday, performed the groundbreaking ceremony (bhoomipujan) for 12 development projects worth Rs 88.04 crore in Dhar district. The announcement came during a State-level event organised on the occasion of Ganga Dussehra. Among the sanctioned works, a major chunk of the investment, Rs 27.21 crore, has been allocated for the construction of a four-lane high-level bridge over the Chambal River on the Lebad-Ghatabillod route, aimed at upgrading regional transit infrastructure. ‘Saraswati Lok’ and research institute at Dhar: Chief Minister Dr Yadav stated that the State Government will establish a ‘Saraswati Lok’ at the historic Bhojshala premises in Dhar, along with the setting up of a Raja Bhoj Research Institute. Referencing the recent High Court directive regarding the Bhojshala complex, the Chief Minister maintained that the State administration will ensure total compliance with the judicial order. He noted that the site historically functioned as an ancient centre for Sanskrit studies and research, and the state intends to restore its historical context. A museum dedicated to Raja Bhoj is also being planned in Bhopal.

A two-minute silence was observed by the attendees to pay tributes. Following the declarations, the Chief Minister distributed benefit packages and sanctions to eligible beneficiaries under various state-run welfare schemes. Dhar ranks sixth in State-wide Water Rejuvenation Campaign: The State-level gathering coincided with the ongoing ‘Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan’, a water body preservation drive running across Madhya Pradesh. According to official data, Dhar district ranks sixth in the state for campaign execution, trailing behind Khandwa, Barwani, Ashoknagar, Rajgarh, and Dindori. Over 5,000 water conservation tasks have been completed across rural Dhar, while the Dhar Municipal Corporation is currently conducting the restoration and desiltation of 64 ancient stepwells (baolis) and local ponds.
 
Madhya Pradesh leads National Water Conservation Index: Presenting the State’s broader environmental data, Dr Yadav reported that Madhya Pradesh currently leads water conservation initiatives nationally under central frameworks. The state has outlined a target of 2,42,188 water preservation structures, with active works worth Rs 2,500 crore currently underway. State-wide achievements include the recharging of 89,772 wells, construction of over 55,000 farm ponds, and completion of 105 Amrit Sarovars.
