THE city-level handball competition under the prestigious Khasdar Krida Mahotsav, conceptualised by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, will be held from June 4 to 6 at Divisional Sports Complex, Mankapur.
The tournament will feature four categories — Senior Men, Senior Women, Boys Under-17, and Girls Under-17.
All matches will be played in the evening session under floodlights. In the senior men and women categories, the winning teams will receive Rs 35,000 cash along with a trophy and medals. The runners-up will be richer by Rs 30,000 and the third-placed teams will get Rs 25,000 each with trophies and medals.
Individual prizes include Rs 4,000 for best player (men and women) and Rs 3,500 each for best goalkeeper and best shooter in both senior categories.
In the Under-17 boys and girls sections, the champions will bag Rs 25,000, runners-up Rs 20,000 and third place teams Rs 15,000 each, along with trophies and medals. Best goalkeeper and best shooter will receive Rs 2,000 each, while best player will get Rs 2,500.
The competition is being organised under the guidance of competition observer Atmaram Pande, referee-in-chief Shailesh Yadav and technical committee chief Milind Makde. Ground arrangements are being looked after by Pawan Meshram, Kapil Tipte and Bhushan Ingle.
Satish Wade, Co-Convener KKM; Amateur Handball Association President Roopkumar Naidu, Pankaj Kothari, Inderjit Singh Randhawa and other office-bearers are extending full support to make the event successful.
