In the high-profile death case of actor Twisha Sharma, the prime accused, Samarth Singh, has officially denied all murder allegations during interrogation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT). While rejecting the accusations, Singh conveyed to investigators that he possessed the right to attend the final rites and expressed regret for his absence during the same. He admitted that the couple frequently engaged in arguments but maintained his stance that Twisha had died by suicide. Police sources indicate that Singh described Twisha Sharma as a headstrong individual who would insist on getting her way. During questioning, he challenged the investigative team to conduct a thorough probe while steadfastly claiming that Sharma took her own life. Despite his denials, he acknowledged that their relationship had been strained by frequent disputes in the days leading up to the incident, with the most recent argument reportedly centered around a proposed trip to Ajmer. The Special Investigation Team challenged Singh regarding the specific injuries found on Sharma’s body. Investigators pointed out the absence of any walls or nearby objects at the scene that could have logically caused such trauma. Singh claimed to have no knowledge of how those injuries were sustained.

He asserted that Twisha was upset over certain undisclosed issues, stating that within a short span of 10 to 15 minutes, she had found an opportunity to reach the terrace where she allegedly hanged herself. Police are now scrutinising every facet of the case, including the nature of their relationship, reported physical altercations, and Singh’s interactions with former judge Giribala Singh. The legal landscape of the case has shifted significantly following the intervention of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. The court has issued a formal notice to the accused’s mother-in-law, former judge Giribala Singh, regarding a petition filed by the State Government and the victim’s father, Navnidhi Sharma. This petition challenges the anticipatory bail previously granted by the trial court. The District Court postponed further proceedings related to the same individual untill Tuesday, pending a complete status report from the police. In a related development, the forensic team from AIIMS Delhi has concluded its investigation and returned to the capital.

The experts conducted a detailed post-mortem procedure and technical assessment lasting approximately three hours. The head of the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at AIIMS, Sudhir Kumar Gupta, noted that the final post-mortem report will take time to process, as critical histopathology and viscera test results are still pending. Following the conclusion of these procedures, the family of Sharma performed the final rituals at the Bhadbhada crematorium, where the ashes were collected before the family departed for Rishikesh to complete the religious rites.
