In a massive, co-ordinated crackdown against regulatory violations, the Jabalpur district administration sealed two prominent properties including Nisarg Resort in Barela and Sukoon Resort in Ghana on Monday. The joint operations revealed severe safety hazards, hygiene violations and illegal land encroachments.
Acting on the direct orders of the District Collector, a high-level team led by Additional Tehsildar Shashank Dubey and IPS Shubhkam Thakur conducted a surprise inspection at Nisarg Resort in Barela. The multi-departmental raid, which included Revenue, Police, Food Safety and Electricity Board (MPEB), uncovered a series of major compliance failures. The resort was operating entirely without a Fire NOC and no firefighting equipment was found on the premises. Only a partial area of the resort’s land was found to be officially diverted for commercial use. The Food Safety Department found the resort’s kitchen operating under highly unhygienic conditions.
Food Safety Officer Madhuri Mishra collected multiple food samples for laboratory testing. Junior Engineers from MPEB and Patwaris including Nilesh Yadav, Aman Chaurasia, and Neeraj Tiwari were part of the executing team.
The resort has been sealed pending further investigation. Simultaneously, the administration targeted Sukoon Resort, located in Ghana under
Jabalpur Tehsil. The inspection, led by Jabalpur SDM Abhishek Singh, revealed shocking environmental and structural violations.
SDM, Singh stated that the owners of Sukoon Resort had illegally encroached upon Government land and severely narrowed the flow of a live nullah. The team discovered illegal construction blocking and altering public waterways. The kitchen was found to be extremely foul-smelling and filthy, with food items left exposed in the open.
Just like Nisarg Resort, Sukoon Resort completely lacked a fire safety plan and a valid Fire NOC.
The administration immediately halted all operations and sealed the property.
The district administration has signaled a zero-tolerance policy toward commercial establishments flouting public safety, environmental laws and food hygiene standards. Strict legal action will continue against other commercial properties failing to comply with safety and land regulations in the region.
