Tension prevailed at the District and Sessions Court premises in Raipur after a dispute between two parties escalated into a violent altercation, leaving one person injured. According to police, both parties had appeared before the court on Friday in connection with an old case registered at Purani Basti Police Station. After the court proceedings concluded, an argument reportedly broke out between the two sides within the court premises. During the altercation, Rahul Soni sustained injuries after Dhruvesh Devangan allegedly struck his head against a wall.

 

The incident caused panic among lawyers, litigants and visitors present at the court complex, with several people rushing to assist the injured man. Visuals from the scene, which have circulated widely on social media, showed Rahul Soni covered in blood and being assisted by advocates and others present at the spot. He was initially taken to the court police outpost and later shifted to a hospital for medical treatment. Authorities clarified that both parties had appeared in court on their own for the scheduled hearing and were not brought there by police personnel. Police also dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that the victim was attacked with a knife or any other sharp-edged weapon. According to the preliminary investigation, no evidence has been found to support allegations of a knife attack. Senior police officials have initiated an inquiry into the incident, and legal action is being taken in accordance with the law.
