MLA Rohani submits memo to CM, demands‘furniture cluster’ in Rani Avanti Bai Ward
Staff Reporter :
MLA Ashok Rohani on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav in Bhopal, demanding the establishment of a dedicated ‘Furniture Cluster’ in Rani Avanti Bai Ward, Bhatoli area of Jabalpur. The memorandum seeks land allocation and infrastructure development to support the region's thriving furniture industry.
In the memorandum, MLA Rohani stated that a large number of micro and small entrepreneurs engaged in the furniture industry are already working in the Bhatoli area. The furniture crafted by local artisans is well recognised for its quality not only in Jabalpur but also across other districts of Madhya Pradesh.
However, MLA Rohani said that due to lack of adequate space and basic infrastructure, these entrepreneurs are currently unable to work to their full potential.
He emphasised that if a well-organised Furniture Cluster is developed in the Bhatoli, it would
generate direct and indirect employment for thousands of youth and traditional artisans of the region. It would also help reduce production costs and position Jabalpur as a prominent Furniture Hub in Madhya Pradesh. MLA Rohani urged the Chief Minister to reserve available government land in Bhatoli area for the proposed Furniture Cluster and to issue necessary directions to the concerned department for its infrastructure development.
Local entrepreneurs and artisans have welcomed this initiative and expressed hope that the state government will respond positively, giving a major boost to the region's industrial growth.
