Precautionary measures

Replying to ‘The Hitavada’s’ query in an exclusive talk, Executive Director of BHEL Bhopal P K Upadhyay stated that switching of operations from LPG to PNG much in advanced some around a year ago is being proving helpful for them. He was responding to our query regarding impact of Middle East conflict to their operations. Explaining how policy and decision making on time can mitigate the adverse impact of any condition can only be understood with the fact that we opted for PNG in advance, Upadhyay said.

“By that time, we thought to go with PNG as it posses green technology benefits and we started last year only and reduced our dependency on LPG. “In future, how things are going to be affected especially on raw material importing from other countries, can only be assessed after some time.” On carbon foot print issue, this unit is working great. As 5.45 MW solar plant has already been installed and an addition of 1.5 MW is proposed.
