In a joint operation conducted on Sunday, the district administration and police removed and destroyed an illegally stored stockpile of sand found on government land along the banks of the Narmada River in Bahoripar village.
During the action, officials used a JCB machine to push approximately three Hyva truckloads of illegally stored sand back into the river, thereby disposing of the unauthorised stockpile.
The operation was carried out under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Revenue Officer (SDM) Abhishek Singh.
Other officials present included Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Bargi) Anjul Ayak Mishra, Tehsildar Pradeep Tiwari and Bargi Police Station In-charge Nilesh Dohare.
Authorities prepared a formal panchnama in the presence of
the village kotwar, sarpanch and panchayat representatives. Following the documentation process, the illegally stored sand was removed and
disposed of using heavy machinery.
Officials said the action was part of the ongoing drive against illegal sand mining and storage in the region, aimed at protecting government land and preventing unauthorized exploitation of natural resources along the Narmada River.
