The Mayor said door-to-door garbage collection is being carried out across all 79 wards under 16 divisions. On average, 40 sanitation workers are deployed per ward. A total of 3,919 outsourced and 793 regular sanitation staff are working in the field. He said 14 mechanical sweeping machines are cleaning 30 to 40 km of roads daily. Night cleaning has been introduced in major markets. Eighty new vehicles are being added to the fleet. All garbage vehicles are tracked through GPS from the Smart City Control Room. He said garbage collection vehicles now have five separate compartments for waste segregation.

Eleven Three-R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) centres are operational in the city. Treated sewage water is being reused for plants and construction work. Major squares and parks have been beautified with fountains and lighting. Mayor said the Waste-to-Energy plant is now processing 800 tonnes of garbage daily and generating electricity worth Rs 4 crore every month. Legacy waste of 3 lakh metric tonnes at the dumpsite has been completely cleared. Jabalpur is also participating in the River Town Assessment for the first time this year. On water supply, the Mayor said pipeline expansion, tanker supply, new borings and connections are being carried out on a war footing. A special "Jal Sunwai" will be held on Tuesday at JMC headquarters and all divisional offices to resolve water complaints on the spot. Heavy machinery has been deployed to prevent waterlogging. The Mayor said the target is to make Jabalpur the number one clean city in India.
