The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has declared the results of the first-attempt MHT-CET 2026 for the PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) group conducted for admissions to Pharmacy and Agriculture courses for the academic year 2026-27. A total of 11 students from Maharashtra secured a perfect 100 percentile score, including three girls and eight boys. Nagpur’s Aditya Abhishek Somani is among the top 11. Notably, no student from outside Maharashtra featured among the 100-percentile scorers this year. Aditya Somani (Nagpur) topped the Open category with 100 percentile. Aditya emerged as one of the State’s highest-ranking candidates. Aditya has a good academic record. A student of Centre Point School, Wardhaman Nagar, Aditya has been a topper in every class. In a recently-held NEET also, Aditya scored 695 marks.

His father Dr Abhishek Somani is Professor and Head, Department of Psychiatry at Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH) and mother Dr Aditi is a noted gynaecologist. His elder brother Abhinav also came out in flying colours in CLAT and now, is studying in ILS, Bengaluru. Aditya was topper in JEE also, but he wants to become doctor so he prepared with that aim. He is preparing for the second NEET to be held on June 21, 2026. The PCB CET examination was conducted from April 21 to April 26, 2026, across 11 sessions over six days. A total of 2,84,063 candidates registered for the examination, of whom 2,63,213 appeared, resulting in an attendance rate of 92.66 per cent. Of the candidates who appeared, 1,03,360 were male students, 1,59,848 were female students and five were transgender candidates, with female participation exceeding that of male candidates. The examination was conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode at 186 centres across 36 districts of Maharashtra. Of the total candidates, 2,61,222 were from Maharashtra and 1,991 were from outside the State.

Unlike previous years, no examination centres were announced outside Maharashtra. The CET Cell also highlighted that, 2026 is the first year in which students were given two opportunities to appear for MHT-CET examinations, similar to the national-level JEE (Main) pattern. The decision was implemented on the instructions of Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil. For candidates appearing in both attempts, the higher percentile score will be considered for admissions. The CET Cell clarified that the result has been declared in terms of percentile and not percentage. While percentage reflects marks obtained out of the total marks, percentile indicates a candidate’s performance relative to other candidates and serves as the basis for merit ranking in the admission process. The result has been made available through the candidates’ login portals, while the admission process for Pharmacy and Agriculture courses is expected to commence shortly.
