POWER failure at VCA Civil Lines Stadium abandoned the match between Orange Tigresses vs India Warriors on Tuesday night.
Former India player and India Warriors captain Mona Meshram won the toss and decode to make first use of the turf.
The trio of Orange Tigresses — Trupti Lodhe (4-2-16-3), Janhvi Ranganathan (4-0-22-2), Siddhi Nerkar (3.5-0-29-2) shared seven wickets between them while the last three batters were run out with Riddhima Maradwar having a hand in all those dismissals.
India Warriors innings folded at 137 in 19.5 overs. Opener Ayushi Thakre (54; 36b, 10x4) hit a fine half century. But after her dismissal at 99-3 in 13.4 overs, the later batters with the exception of Sai Bhoyar (37; 31b, 5x4) and Latika Inamdar (18; 8b, 4x4), who were the only other two batters to reach into double digits, could not contribute much.
The second innings could not be started as power failure plunged the entire stadium into darkness.
