SKIPPER Disha Kasat led from the front as Orange Tigresses recorded a convincing 60 runs win over Pagariya Strikers in their Women’s Vidarbha Premier League match at Vidarbha Cricket Association’s Civil Lines ground on Thursday night. Orange Tigresses made 180-4 in 20 overs while Pagariya Strikers, who had worst possible start losing young opener Arya Pongde for a two-ball duck. Strikers lost wickets regularly and were bowled out for 120 in 17.5 overs. Sanskruti Sant top-scored with 31 while Mansi Pande made 28. As many as seven batters failed to move into double digits.
 
For Orange Tigresses Vedant Salodkar (4-0-22-5) returned with a five-wicket haul. Riya Baniya snared two wickets while Trupti Lodhe and Janhvi Ranganathan took one wicket each. Earlier, Disha won the toss and elected to bat first. She made a stroke-filled 61-ball 95. The knock contained five hits to the fence and seven over it. She and fellow opener Mahek Mistry (38; 40b, 5x4) added 99 runs in 13.4 overs. Riya Baniya contributed a 13-ball 21 hitting two maximums and a four. Disha was unlucky to miss the mark as she was run out on fist ball of the last over. For Pagariya, Kanchan Nagwani, Nimisha Kotecha and Mansi Borikar picked one wicket each.
