Himmat Singh Chauhan, Head of Project (HoP) at NTPC Gadarwara, has been promoted to the position of Executive Director. He has been successfully leading the 1,600 MW (2×800 MW) super critical thermal power project at NTPC Gadarwara since January 2026.
A veteran officer of NTPC, Chauhan brings with him over 38 years of rich experience. His career is characterised by a commitment to excellence, fairness and result-oriented leadership.
He initiated his journey with NTPC in 1987 as an Executive Trainee. Over the decades, he established a stellar reputation within the organisation through his dedication, technical expertise and outstanding performance.
Chauhan has made significant contributions to the construction and implementation of large-scale power projects, with specialised expertise in the domains of Mechanical and Electrical Erection.
His role has been consistently decisive in ensuring time-bound execution of complex projects, rigorous quality assurance across operations and
enhancement of operational reliability within the power plants. Before assuming leadership at NTPC Gadarwara, he served as the Head of Project at NTPC Mouda, where his tenure was marked by milestones in project performance and operational excellence. His extensive career portfolio includes vital roles at several of NTPC’s prestigious projects across the nation, such as NTPC North Karanpura, Bongaigaon, Talcher Kaniha and Unchahar.
