Chhindwara’s Priya Malviya has brought laurels to the State and the district by becoming a Flying Officer in the Indian Air Force (IAF). Priya, daughter of ASI Ravi Malviya and Urmila Malviya, who lives in Basant Colony of the city, has secured All India rank 113th in AFCAT-2025 examination. She is said to be the first female flying officer of Chhindwara district. Priya completed her early education from Vidyabhoomi School in Chhindwara. After her schooling, she completed BE in Electronics and Communication Branch from Gujarat Technological University. After completing engineering, she stayed at home for about a year and a half to prepare for the competitive exam. Priya credited her achievement to God, her parents and brother Himanshu Malviya.
 
Talking on her success, she said, “The support I received from my family and their belief in me became my biggest strength. After her success, there is an atmosphere of happiness and celebration in Malviya family. Father Ravi Malviya, posted in the Police Department, was very emotional about his daughter’s success. Expressing happiness with teary eyes, he said that his daughter has fulfilled his dream today. On receiving the news of her success, father’s fellow policemen and acquaintances rushed to his house to congratulate him. Kotwali Police Station In-charge Ashish Kumar and all the well-wishers of the area have congratulated Priya and termed this as a moment of pride for the district.
