The Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme stands as a flagship initiative of the Central Government, designed primarily to provide youth with internship opportunities in India’s top companies. Through this scheme, trainees gain hands-on, real-world work experience in major corporations, boosting their skill development and significantly enhancing their future employment prospects. Launched by the Government of India as a pilot project in 2024, the scheme successfully rolled out its second phase in 2025 and is currently executing its third phase in 2026. Under this ongoing phase, several prominent industries and companies have notified vacant internship positions across various sectors within Nagpur district. Among the prominent employers offering positions, Mineral Exploration & Consultancy Limited has announced 30 vacancies across multiple departments, including Research & Development, Design, Product Development, Information Technology, Finance, and Accounting.

This opportunity is open to candidates who have completed a relevant graduation or diploma, and the final date to apply is June 20. Additionally, Jubilant Food Works Limited has listed 17 openings in Operation Management for applicants who have cleared their 10th grade, with the same application deadline of June 20. Further expanding the opportunities, The Tata Power Company Limited is seeking graduates for 3 vacancies in Sales & Marketing, with the registration window closing on June 30. Meanwhile, Manappuram Finance Limited has notified the highest number of openings, with 50 vacant positions available for graduate applicants, accepting applications until July 2.

The internship duration under this national scheme generally ranges between 6 to 9 months, though it may extend up to 12 months for specific training cycles that commenced during the initial pilot phase. Selected trainees will be supported financially with a monthly stipend of Rs 9,000. In addition to this regular monthly income, an explicit allowance of Rs 6,000 will be provided to the candidates, which will be disbursed across two separate installments. To avail themselves of the benefits of this central scheme, interested and eligible candidates must register on-line on the official Government of India web portal at www.pminternship.mca.gov.in, says a press release. Nita Aughad, Assistant Commissioner of the District Skill Development Office, has appealed to the eligible youth of the region to log on to the portal, verify their eligibility, and make the most of these prestigious career-building opportunities.
