The nomination process for the Padma Awards 2027, one of the country’s highest civilian honours, is currently underway. Nominations and recommendations for the Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri awards can be submitted online until July 15, 2026. The awards, which are announced annually by the Government of India on the eve of Republic Day, recognise individuals for exceptional and distinguished service across a wide range of fields, including social work, art, literature, education, sports, medicine, science, engineering, public affairs and other areas of national importance.

 

The Government of India has invited nominations for individuals who have made outstanding and selfless contributions to society, including those working in remote forest regions, rural areas and urban centres. The awards seek to acknowledge achievements that have had a significant impact on communities and the nation. The nomination process for the 2027 awards began on March 15, 2026. Applicants and nominators can submit their nominations through the National Awards Portal of the Government of India.
