A 25-year-old man was allegedly honey trapped, kidnapped and robbed of valuables and cash collectively worth around Rs 4.25 lakh by a gang in Ajni area. Ajni Police have registered a case and started search for the accused. The victim, Yuvraj, is a resident of Butibori and originally belongs to Bhandara district. His father runs a readymade garment shop there. Yuvraj has been living in Butibori with his wife for the last four months while pursuing a pharmacy course at a local college. According to the police complaint, Yuvraj received a missed call from a woman who identified herself as Saloni, recently.

 

The two started talking regularly over the phone. On Friday, Saloni called him to meet her at a place at Kukde Layout in Ajni area. Around 12.45 pm, Yuvraj reached Kukde Layout on his motorcycle and tried to contact Saloni. At that time, four men approached him, abused him and forcibly pushed him into an auto-rickshaw. One of the accused moved his motorcycle aside. The gang allegedly threatened him with a knife and robbed him of his mobile phone, gold chain, bracelet, and ring. They then demanded money.

 

When Yuvraj said, he did not have any cash, the accused forced him into a car and took him to his residence in Butibori. There, Yuvraj handed over Rs 1.99 lakh cash kept at his home. After collecting the money, the five accused fled the spot. Yuvraj first approached Butibori Police. As the crime took place in Ajni Police Station limits, he was directed to file a complaint with Ajni Police. Based on his complaint, a case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
