Demolishing the fear of death

I Have always been afraid of the word ‘death’, avoiding even the thought of it. But as I have grown up and witnessed life’s realities, I have come to understand that death is nothing but the ultimate universal truth that unites us all. People often spend their lives worrying about trivial matters, holding on to anger, resentment and grudges as though they will last forever. Yet, life itself is unpredictable, fragile and uncertain.

We become consumed by what went wrong, who hurt us and what we failed to achieve, forgetting that time moves forward regardless of our feelings. Death does not wait for conflicts to be resolved, nor does it pause to give us one final opportunity to forgive or seek forgiveness. It arrives without warning, reminding us that many of the battles we fought so fiercely were far smaller than we imagined.

When viewed through the lens of mortality, our pride, anger and disappointments begin to lose their weight. The moments we cherish, the kindness we offer and the relationships we nurture become far more meaningful than the grudges we carry. Life is too brief to be spent imprisoned by bitterness. Perhaps the greatest lesson death teaches us is that nothing is permanent, neither our failures nor our pain. In the end, what truly matters is how deeply we lived, how sincerely we loved and how much peace we made with ourselves and others before our time ran out.
