A four-year-old boy tragically lost his life after a wall collapsed on him during strong wind and rain at a construction site on Hingna Road.
According to police, the incident occurred on June 12 at around 2.30 pm in Bhagirathi Park under the MIDC police station limits. The child, identified as Daivik Akash Channe, was present at a construction site belonging to his uncle.
Police said sudden strong winds and rain hit the area which caused a parapet wall on the third floor of the under-construction building to collapse.
The falling structure struck Daivik on the head and left him seriously injured.
Family members immediately rushed the child to Lata Mangeshkar Hospital, where doctors began treatment. Despite efforts to save him, his condition remained critical.
On June 13 at around 12.15 pm, doctors examined the boy and declared him dead during treatment. The incident has left the family devastated.
MIDC Police registered a case of accidental death.
Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the collapse of the wall and are gathering details about the construction site. Further inquiry is underway.
