Massive housing, commercial and infrastructure construction work coupled with commercial business, offices, hospitals and residents with light and heavy four-wheeler vehicles park their vehicles on footpaths meant for pedestrians. This is causing enormous physical and mental hardships to road users, pedestrians and impeding smooth flow of traffic movement. Due to this, for the past several years, traffic congestion is a common sight in adjoining areas of entire Dhantoli area. Right from Dhantoli Police Station to Panchsheel Square, Ghare Galli to Banerjee Road, Suretech Hospital, Dinanath School to Khare Marg, Getwell Hospital, Humpyard Road Point to Lokmat Square, Chitle Marg to Amar Jyoti Palace Road, Gorakshan, New English School T-point Road to Rahate Colony junction road and entire road junction connecting to Ramdaspeth, is always jam-packed during day time as well in the night due to haphazard parking on busy roads.

 

During day time, haphazard parking of 2,3 and 4-wheelers on busy roads with no traffic sense by vehicle users coming to Dhantoli and Ramdaspeth for work creates havoc for people in general and pedestrians in particular. There are numerous apartments and buildings in Dhantoli and Ramdaspeth with no parking space. Residents and visitors to these apartments and buildings park their vehicles on roads without caring for the safety of the people. Why can’t we as people and Government authorities be sensitive and responsible while adhering to traffic sense and resolve the parking issue and traffic congestion for the benefit and welfare of road users.
