The district is all set to host the grand International Yoga Day celebration in august presence of President Droupadi Murmu on June 21. Necessary preparations are being made on war footings to ensure fluent conduction of NEET-UG re-examination in the district on the same day.
Collector Raghvendra Singh and Superintendent of Police, Sampat Upadhyay, during a press conference on Wednesday, detailed about the preparations regarding the visit of President Droupadi Murmu, the district tour of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Committee and preparations for the NEET-UG re-examination.
Collector Singh informed that President Droupadi Murmu will participate in the International Yoga Day programme on June 21. Around 4,000 participants are expected to attend the event and all necessary arrangements have been completed.
He also informed that the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Committee will visit Jabalpur on June 19.
The committee will interact with citizens and seek their suggestions at 3:30 pm at Sanskriti Theatre premises. He appealed the residents to actively participate and also submit their views through the State Government’s dedicated UCC website.
Regarding the NEET-UG 2025 re-examination (NEET-2), Singh said that 10,426 students from the district will appear for the examination, for which 23 examination centres have been established.
Special bus services have been arranged to facilitate the transportation of candidates to distant examination centres.
SP, Upadhyay said elaborate security arrangements have been made for both the examination and the VVIP events. He added that efforts would be made to ensure that traffic movement is affected as little as possible during the programmes.
