AFTER his heroics at the
French Top16Club
Championship 2026 in France,
city’s India’s 65th Grandmaster
Raunak Sadhwani is making
waves in Hong Kong with his
superlative performance.
The 21-year-old chess master has grabbed the spotlight
on Day 1 of the World Teams
Championship in Hong Kong.
Sadhwani created a flutter
when he held World No 1
Magnus Carlsen to a draw.
If that was not enough, a
confident Sadhwani went on
split point with former world
champion Ding Liren.
Playing on the top board for
Team Chessnut, Raunak
scored two out of four points,
standing tall against the world’s
best.
The six-player team is led by
his coach, Vidarbha’s GM
