A PATROLLINGteam from Game Range Gumtara (Core) Forest Range within Pench Tiger Reserve, Seoni, received information from an informer about illegal trespassing and fishing in restricted core area. The forest staff, in conjunction with the police team, took immediate action and set up a blockade on Pulpuldoh-Khamarpani road. During the search, a Bolero vehicle was stopped and approximately 128 kg of dead fish (packed in two jute bags, two nylon bags, and one plastic crate) were recovered. In this operation, the material was seized from Raju, son of Budhman Vishwakarma, resident of Marjatpur arrested at the scene and Sharif Khan, son of Bashir Khan, vehicle owner, resident of Khamarpani, who fled the scene, and a wildlife crime case was registered. The arrested accused has been presented in the court of Chhindwara.
