CBI re-creates Twisha Sharma’s death scene, Samarth and Giribala re-enact body lowering and ligature removal sequence
Staff Reporter :
On the twentieth day of the investigation into the high-profile Twisha Sharma death case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted an extensive on-site crime scene reconstruction on Monday. A specialised team of forensic experts from Delhi, alongside the federal agency’s primary investigating officers, escorted retired judge Giribala Singh, her son Samarth Singh, cousin Swaraj Singh, and the family’s domestic helper to the Katara Hills residence. The intensive simulation lasted for approximately three and a half hours, with the entire sequence of events meticulously captured on video.
Custom weighted dummy mimics physical dimensions of the deceased: CBI investigators arrived at the residence at 12:30 pm to begin the technical exercise. To replicate the exact physical conditions of the incident, forensic experts prepared an 80 kilogram dummy matching Sharma’s actual body weight. To achieve this precise weight distribution, the team filled the lifelike model with sand and secured heavy iron dumbbells to its feet. The dummy was suspended from the ceiling in the exact position described in the initial reports, allowing investigators to physically evaluate the mechanics of lowering the body and administering first-aid.
Suspects re-enact body lowering and CPR procedures: During the physical simulation, Samarth Singh demonstrated how he initially supported and lifted the body, while his mother, Giribala Singh, showed how she untied the ligature knot from the neck.
The suspects, assisted by Swaraj Singh and the domestic helper, then demonstrated the process of lowering the weighted dummy to the floor. Additionally, Swaraj Singh was instructed to demonstrate the exact method he used while attempting to administer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to the victim. Investigators are now cross-referencing these physical actions with forensic evidence and post-mortem findings.
Evasion timeline reveals suspect remained in State capital: The federal probe has also unearthed significant details regarding Samarth Singh’s movements after the registration of the First Information Report (FIR) on May 15. Investigative sources revealed that Singh did not immediately flee Bhopal, but instead remained hidden within the State capital for three days. Following this initial period, he travelled to Jabalpur, where he spent approximately five days evading law enforcement before being apprehended.
Digital footprints and banking networks under technical scrutiny: The CBI has intensified its technical investigation into the suspect’s seven-day flight from the law.
Investigators are
conducting deep-dive analyses of Singh’s mobile phone location logs, personal contacts, banking transactions, and digital chat records. The agency is also actively working to identify and legally implicate the individuals who provided shelter and financial support to the accused during his period of evasion. Throughout the emotionally charged reconstruction process, both Giribala Singh and her son Samarth Singh maintained a subdued presence, standing with their heads bowed at the crime scene.
