First in Asia Pacific, Dr Varshney performs Robotic Perceval Plus Valve implantation

TEAM of doctors in KIMS Kingsway Hospitals successfully performed the first robotic implantation of the new Perceval Plus Sutureless Aortic Valve in India and the Asia Pacific region.
The procedure was carried out using the advanced Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System, marking a significant breakthrough in the field of minimally invasive cardiac surgery.
The pioneering procedure was successfully done by Dr Saurabh Varshney, Senior Consultant –Cardiothoracic and Robotic Cardiac Surgeon.
The Perceval Plus Valve represents the latest advancement in sutureless aortic valve technology, enabling faster implantation while maintaining surgical precision and excellent clinical outcomes.
It offers patients several benefits of smaller incisions, reduced surgical trauma, shorter hospital stays, faster recovery.
Dr B Bhaskar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director, KIMS Hospitals Group of Hospitals congratulated the team. Dr Saurabh Varshney said, “We believe this is the first such procedure performed in India and the Asia Pacific region. More importantly, it expands treatment options for patients requiring aortic valve replacement while ensuring the benefits of minimally invasive surgery.”
