Business Reporter :
The Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC), one of the leading body of traders in Vidarbha, organised its executive committee meeting on Friday at Hotel Dwarkamai. On the occasion, Adv. Nikhil Agrawal, Convener of the chamber’s Food Safety and Drug Act Subcommittee, provided vital guidance to members regarding the FSSAI (Food) Act, Rules, and Licensing Regulations.
Addressing the members, Advocate Nikhil Agrawal emphasized that because the food business directly impacts human health, the corresponding laws and regulations are stringent and complex. However, he noted that if business owners pay special attention to food safety and hygiene, adhere to all rules, and fulfill legal provisions on time, they can seamlessly avoid operational difficulties.
Advocate Agrawal highlighted that obtaining a license is mandatory for any kind of food business, and it is essential to specify the exact food categories under the operation. Agrawal specifically highlighted the new rule targeting the edible oil sector.
“Oil must be sold in fresh tins every single time,” he added.
Urging traders to align with standard operating practices, NVCC President Farooque Akbani stated that members should leverage the insights shared during the meeting to conduct their businesses strictly within legal boundaries, thereby shielding themselves from adverse FDA actions.
NVCC Secretary CA Hemant Sarda proposed the formal vote of thanks. Hemant Khungar, Mayur Panchmatia, Ashwin Prakash Mehadia, Arjundas Ahuja, Swapnil Ahirkar, Umesh Patel, CA Hemant Sarda,
