Sharayu clinches natl karate gold
 
REPRESENTING Maharashtra, Nagpur’s Sharayu Shravanakar delivered an outstanding performance to clinch gold medal at the KIO Sub-Junior Cadet, Junior National Karate Championship that was held at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Parade Ground, Dehradun, recently. Sharayu clinched gold medal in the Under-12, minus 40kg kumite category. She showcased remarkable skill and determination throughout the tournament. In the opening round, she defeated Bihar karateka 2–0, followed by a strong 6–4 victory over Delhi in the second round. Continuing her dominant run, she overcame Jharkhand 8–2 in the third round to secure a place in the semi-finals. In the semi-final clash, she edged past Odisha 8–6 in a closely contested bout, and went on to triumph in the final against Meghalaya with a narrow but impressive 5–4 victory, securing gold medal for Maharashtra.
 
Sharayu is a dedicated member of the Eastern Karate Club, affiliated with the Traditional Shotokan & Sports Karate Organisation. She credited her success to the continuous guidance and training provided by her coaches Sensei Avinash Ingole, along with assistant coaches Alfaz Shaikh, Anushree Patil, Kritika Rathod and Prem Patel. Congratulating her for the achievement, organisational heads Sihan Ravi Karale and Sihan Vinay Bodhe stated that discipline, respect, focus, determination and excellence were the true foundations of her success. Her victory was warmly celebrated by her coaches, organisation members, parents and the entire club fraternity, who expressed immense pride in her historic achievement.
