Police caught a Government
school accountant red-handed while accepting a bribe of
Rs 4,000 from a teacher in
Balaghat district on Wednesday.
The accused has been identified as Vomendra Kumar Rokde
(49), an accountant posted at
Government Higher Secondary
School, Kaydi, Waraseoni,
Balaghat.
The operation was conducted under the directives of
Director General of Police
(Lokayukta) Yogesh Deshmukh
and the guidance of Deputy
Inspector General Manoj Singh,
as part of the ongoing campaign against corruption.

Patle informed that the complainant, Narendra Kumar
Dohare (53), an Assistant
Teacher at Government Higher
Secondary School, Kaydi,
Waraseoni, had a pending
salary arrears amount of Rs
27,528. The arrears were related to a pay anomaly for the
period from July 2017 to
December 2023. Out of the total
arrears of Rs 94,085, he had
already received Rs 66,557 while
the remaining amount was yet
to be released.
The accused, Vomendra
Kumar Rokde (49), an accountant posted at the same school,
allegedly demanded Rs 4,000
as a bribe for processing and
releasing the remaining arrears
amount. After receiving the
complaint, the Lokayukta
Police conducted a verification
and found the allegations to be
prima facie genuine. Acting on
the complaint, a trap was laid
on June 24, at the Government
Higher Secondary School in
Kaydi, Waraseoni.
During the operation,
Lokayukta officials caught
Rokde red-handed while
accepting the bribe amount of
Rs 4,000 from the complainant
inside the school’s staff room.
Lokayukta police have registered a case against the accused
under Sections 7, 13(1)(B), and
13(2) of the Prevention of
Corruption Act, 1988 (as
amended in 2018) and further
legal proceedings are underway. The trap team included
Inspector Rahul Gajbhiye, Trap
Laying Officer Inspector
Jitendra Yadav and other members of the Jabalpur Lokayukta
Police team.
