Cyber security training to newly-recruited constables underway under ‘Safe Click’ drive
Staff Reporter :
Madhya Pradesh Police have initiated a large-scale cyber awareness campaign named ‘Safe Click 2.0’ across the State. Under this campaign, a cyber security training program is being conducted for 637 newly-recruited constables currently undergoing training at the Police Training School in Ujjain. The training program, launched under the leadership of Director General of Police Kailash Makwana, will run from June 24 to July 8. The primary objective of this special drive is to make the newly recruited constables proficient in preventing cybercrimes so that they can play an effective role in raising awareness within the community when they deploy to the field. During the training program, these newly-recruited constables, who are undergoing their foundational training, were provided detailed information regarding various types of cybercrimes, including digital arrest, financial fraud, and online scams, by expert officers from the State Cyber Police Ujjain Unit.
Along with this, the recruits were trained on the immediate support mechanisms available in the event of a cybercrime, cyber security precautions, the safe use of digital platforms, and the effective utilisation of the cyber helpline 1930 and the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.
During the event, the trainee constables formed a massive human chain to send out a message to citizens to remain alert against cybercrimes and adopt safe digital behaviour. The program was attended by Manisha Pathak Soni (Superintendent of Police, Police Training School Ujjain), Leena Maroth (Superintendent of Police, State Cyber Police Ujjain Unit), Nandkishore Malviya (Deputy Superintendent of Police), Shailaja Bhadoria (Deputy Superintendent of Police), and Prahlad Ghatia (Assistant Public Prosecution Officer), along with other police officers and staff. Madhya Pradesh Police is regularly organising various training sessions, public dialogues, and awareness programs across the state to provide citizens with a secure digital environment.
