Reserve Bank of India holds Vidarbha Specific Training for Empowering MSMEs

THE Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Nagpur Regional Office, organised a Vidarbha Specific Training for Empowering MSMEs (VSTEM) to commemorate the International MSME Day, which is celebrated every year on June 27. The theme for the above workshop was ‘Building Resilience through Skill Development, Market Access, and Prudent Financial Management’. The programme was attended by over 180 aspiring and existing entrepreneurs from the district. The programme was graced by Sachin Y Shende, Regional Director, RBI, Nagpur, Anjana Shyamnath, Deputy General Manager, FIDD, RBI, Nagpur, Arup Patra, Deputy General Manager, Bank of India, officials from District Industries Centre, Bhandara and NABARD. Officials from major banks of the region also actively participated in the workshop and established their stalls to promote MSME lending products. Entrepreneurs and SHGs also installed their stalls to showcase their unique products from the district.
 
While addressing the participants, the Regional Director underscored the importance of capacity building, formalisation of enterprises, and enhanced integration of entrepreneurs into the formal financial ecosystem through adequate access to finance and skill development initiatives. He encouraged the participants to actively engage in the deliberations, seek clarifications on issues of concern, and leverage the programme as an opportunity to gain deeper insights into the various support mechanisms available for enterprise growth. DGM, RBI, while giving real life examples, highlighted the pivotal role of MSMEs in driving economic growth, employment generation, and entrepreneurship development at the district level. She further emphasised that the programme had been conceptualised by the Reserve Bank of India, Nagpur Regional Office, with a view to addressing region-specific opportunities and challenges, while fostering greater collaboration among stakeholders to strengthen the MSME ecosystem. The participants were provided insights on RBI initiative to strengthen MSME, and access to credit and export opportunities.
