Raipur :
The Chhattisgarh Government's Department of Health and Family Welfare will administer two drops of the oral bivalent polio vaccine to 35,98,904 children below five years on June 28 as part of the National Immunisation Day.
The State has deployed 14,390 vaccination booths, 28,791 teams, and over 57,000 vaccinators and field personnel to ensure every eligible child across all 33
districts receives the vaccine.
Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said maintaining Chhattisgarh's polio-free status is a shared responsibility of the Government, parents and the community. On June 29 and 30, health teams will conduct house-to-house visits to vaccinate children who miss the booth-based campaign, including those in remote villages, forest areas, urban slums, brick kilns, construction sites and migrant settlements. State Immunization Officer V R Bhagat said all preparations for the campaign have been completed, adding that India’s polio-free status remains one of its greatest public health achievements and requires continued vigilance.
