NMC plans to strengthen urban 
 
 
Following : the presentation of the Budget, city leaders outlined several development plans aimed at improving urban infrastructure, healthcare, education and tourism while assuring that there will be no increase in property tax. Mayor Neeta Thakre, Standing Committee Chairperson Shivani Dani-Wakhare, Leader of the Ruling Party Narendra (Balya) Borkar and Deputy Mayor Leela Hathibed addressed the media after the budget presentation,
 
on Saturday. Dani-Wakhare said the budget, originally scheduled to be presented on May 19, was delayed until June 27 due to the Model Code of Conduct. She admitted that the delay has reduced the time available for implementation but expressed confidence that the newly elected corporators would help speed up the execution of development projects. She also said the civic body has focused on development without increasing property taxes. Among the key proposals is a ducting policy to remove overhead utility wires and improve the city's appearance and safety.
