Around 389,226 children aged between 0 and 5 years will receive polio drops as National Pulse Polio Campaign is all set to launch on June 28, Sunday, across the district. The Health Department has finalised comprehensive arrangements to ensure maximum coverage and robust implementation of the immunisation drive. According to District Immunization Officer Dr Vinod Kumar Gupta, to ensure the campaign’s success, a massive healthcare network has been mobilized across Jabalpur, a total of 2,468 booths have been established at all government health facilities and Anganwadi centers. While around 4,936 vaccinators have been deployed to administer the vaccine and a team of 363 supervisors will monitor the drive to ensure smooth operations.

To leave no child behind, the health administration has formed specialized teams to target moving populations and vulnerable sectors. A total of 30 mobile teams will remain active throughout the district while 106 transit teams have been assigned to high-risk areas, including brick kilns and construction sites. Whereas, 40 dedicated teams will ensure children traveling by train receive the vaccine. In a strategic move, Pulse Polio vaccinator teams will board trains departing from and arriving in Jabalpur, traveling up to Satna and Narmadapuram stations to immunize young passengers. On the first day of the campaign, polio drops will be administered completely free of charge at all designated booths. Collector, Raghavendra Singh and Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO), Dr Naveen Kothari have jointly appealed to the parents of Sanskardhani Jabalpur, urging that all citizens to take their children aged 0 to 5 years to the nearest Pulse Polio booth on day one itself to secure their “Two Drops of Life” (Do Boond Zindagi Ki).
