Tension prevailed at a dental clinic in Madan Mahal area after members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and other Hindu organisations staged protest over allegations that a Muslim man had concealed his identity while working as a dentist and allegedly deceived Hindu women, on Saturday evening. According to the complaint, the accused, identified as Syed Ishaq Asrar, a resident of West Bengal, was employed at Dental Square Clinic under the name Rajkumar. The clinic is operated by Dr Saket Agrawal, who had hired him as a dentist.
The controversy came to light after two women reportedly approached authorities with allegations against the accused. One of the complainants, herself a dentist, alleged that the accused had earlier lived in Hyderabad, where he befriended a Hindu woman and later moved to Kolkata, where he met her. She claimed the two subsequently relocated to Jabalpur and underwent a marriage ceremony at Gayatri Mandir. However, she charged that the accused failed to provide any legally valid proof of marriage. The complainant further alleged that the accused repeatedly altered his identity documents and used forged records to conceal his real identity.
She also accused him of similarly misleading three Hindu women by using a changed name. Following the allegations,
VHP members and other activists reached the clinic and staged a protest. The complainant and the clinic owner later went to Madan Mahal Police Station, where a large gathering of protesters created chaos. Protesters also questioned the clinic management for employing the accused without properly verifying his documents. Police have launched an investigation into the allegations and are examining the authenticity of the accused’s identity documents. Officials said the matter is sensitive, and further action will be taken based on the find
