A 32-year-old businessman allegedly died by suicide after reportedly struggling with emotional distress after his wife left the matrimonial home just a week after his marriage. The incident took place in Hudkeshwar area. The police have registered a case of accidental death. The deceased has been identified as Pravin Ramchandra Umre, a resident of Manewada Juni Vasti. According to police, Pravin got married in 2025. However, just seven days after the wedding, his wife reportedly left their home and returned to her parental house. She did not return thereafter and the marriage eventually snapped. Police said the sudden separation deeply affected Pravin.

 

Family members and people familiar with the matter told investigators that he was upset over the failed marriage and the discussions it triggered among relatives and members of the community. Over the time, he allegedly became addicted to intoxicants and gradually stopped paying attention to his business. According to the preliminary investigation, Pravin closed the shutter of his shop on Friday before allegedly hanging himself inside the premises. He was later found dead. Police said no suicide note has been reported, so far. The exact reason behind the incident is yet to be established. However, investigators are examining whether the emotional trauma caused by his failed marriage played a role in the tragic incident. Officials said statements of family members and others connected to the case are being recorded to ascertain the circumstances leading to the suicide.
