Industrialisation and development are indispensable for remaining competitive in the global economy. However, they also bring increasing environmental and energy-related challenges. With electricity demand rising steadily, prioritising energy efficiency and energy conservation has become the need of the hour, said Rajendra Thakare, Plant Head, Ashok Leyland, Bhandara at the third edition of the Energy Conservation Conference, 'C-EnCo–2026', jointly organised by the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI), Nagpur Chapter, and Ramdeobaba University, Nagpur, concluded successfully on Sunday.
 
The conference was inaugurated at the Ramdeobaba University campus in the presence of Rajendra Thakare, Plant Head, Ashok Leyland, Bhandara; A K Jain, Solar Industry Consultant and Chairman Emeritus, QCFI Nagpur Chapter; Kumar Kisle, Plant Head, Elkem South Asia Pvt. Ltd.; Vivek A. Shroti, Chairman, QCFI Nagpur Chapter; and Vivek Joshi, Secretary, QCFI Nagpur Chapter. On the occasion, the dignitaries also released The ECG Revolution, a book authored by Vivek A Shroti. Addressing the gathering, Rajendra Thakare emphasised the importance of energy conservation, sustainable development, and the effective use of technology. Speaking on the occasion, A K Jain said that saving energy is as important as generating it.
 
Vivek A Shroti urged industries and society to adopt green energy on a larger scale, convert waste into useful energy, and increase the use of clean and sustainable energy sources. Vivek Joshi provided detailed information about the conference and expressed his views on preventing energy leakages in industries. The conference judges were felicitated during the programme, while Ashmita Sethi conducted the proceedings. The valedictory session was attended by Vivek Rokde, Chief Engineer, Thermal Power Station, Khaparkheda, as the chief guest. He called upon industries, educational institutions, and society to work collectively towards achieving energy conservation.
