Madhya Pradesh Poorv Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company
Limited (MPPKVVCL) has suspended two of its engineers in separate cases involving corruption and misuse of company resources, reiterating its zero-tolerance policy against misconduct and irregularities.
In the first case, Rajesh Kumar Sahay, Assistant Engineer (Operation & Maintenance) posted in the Hatta Sub-Division of Damoh Circle, was suspended with immediate effect after being arrested by the Lokayukta Police, Sagar, on June 25, while accepting a bribe. The suspension was ordered after the company reviewed the report submitted by the Superintending Engineer (Operation & Maintenance), Damoh Circle, along with the available evidence. During the suspension period, Sahay has been attached to the Office of the Chief Engineer, Shahdol and will receive a subsistence allowance as per service rules.
In a separate action, the company also suspended Ranjeet Kumar Sahu, a Junior Engineer posted in the office of the Executive Engineer (STM-STC), Sidhi Division, over alleged misuse of company materials and electrical equipment at a 2 MW solar power plant in Hanumana. The action followed a complaint and a preliminary inquiry conducted by a committee constituted by the Chief Engineer (Enforcement), Rewa, which found prima facie evidence of his possible involvement in the irregularities. During his suspension, Sahu’s headquarters has been shifted to the Office of the Superintending Engineer (Operation & Maintenance), Umaria Circle, where he will remain attached and receive a subsistence allowance as per the rules.
Issuing both suspension orders, MPPKVVCL emphasised that it will not tolerate corruption, misuse of company assets, or any form of misconduct by its officers or employees. The power utility said it is committed to maintaining a transparent, accountable, and corruption-free work culture, and that strict disciplinary action will continue to be taken promptly against anyone found violating service rules or misusing public resources.
