Staff Reporter :
A SENSE of panic prevailed on
Bhopal’s VIP Road late Monday
night after an abandoned car
was discovered parked near the
shores of Upper Lake at around
1:30 am. Under the jurisdiction
of the Kohefiza police station,
law enforcement authorities
recovered a suicide note from
the vehicle, raising strong apprehensions that the car owner may
have plunged into the deep
reservoir. Following the discovery, police personnel and
municipal rescue teams
launched a massive search operation in the lake, which has continued into Tuesday without
yielding any trace of the missing individual. The missing
youth has been identified as 30-
year-old Adit Ahuja, a resident
of Bairagarh who operates a
local pharmacy store. Following
the incident, his distraught family members rushed to the
Kohefiza police station, where
a formal missing person report
was registered based on their
complaint. The police have
seized the abandoned vehicle
and the youth’s mobile phone
from the spot.
Investigators
noted that because the incident occurred during the latenight hours when no eyewitnesses were present, they are
meticulously examining all
possible angles of the case.
According to police investigators
and family disclosures, Ahuja
placed a distressing final phone
call to his father moments before
taking the extreme step. Weeping
over the phone, the youth told his
father not to worry or look
for him in Bargi Dam in Jabalpur that
occurred on April 30.
The probe is being headed
by retired High Court Judge
Justice Sanjay Dwivedi to investigate the loss of life caused by
the incident.
Finally, the State
Government formally ratified
its earlier orders from July 24,
2025, and March 3, 2026, granting State Goods and Services
Tax (SGST) exemptions to two
Hindi feature films exhibiting
in the state, namely ‘Tanvi the
Great’ directed by Anupam
Kher and ‘Shatak: Sangh Ke 100
Varsh’ directed by Ashish Mall,
allowing the equivalent tax
amount to be reimbursed to
provide a direct price benefit
to moviegoers.
