Clouds clearup heat intensifies

After a brief spell of relief, intense summer heat has started making a comeback in Sanskardhani. Though morning cloud cover continues to prevail over the city on most days, it is no longer enough to keep temperatures under control. As the clouds clear later in the day, strong sunshine and hot winds make conditions uncomfortable for residents. On Tuesday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 38.7 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled at 26.4 degrees Celsius. The mercury remained below the 40-degree mark due to cloud cover during the early hours, but the afternoon heat was intense. In recent days, thick clouds and light rainfall had brought much needed relief from the scorching weather. However, these conditions are now gradually disappearing, paving the way for a fresh spell of heat across the region.

With temperatures rising once again, many people are heading to rivers, water bodies and swimming pools to escape the heat. Such places are witnessing a large number of visitors seeking relief from the hot weather. Despite the prevailing heat, the Weather Department has forecast the possibility of rain and thundershowers in Jabalpur district and nearby areas in the coming days. Weather experts say the period for pre monsoon activity has arrived. However, in recent years, both pre-monsoon showers and the onset of the monsoon have often been delayed by nearly two weeks compared to their usual schedule. For now, residents are preparing for continued hot conditions. Health experts have advised people to avoid direct exposure to the sun during peak afternoon hours, stay hydrated and remain indoors as much as possible until more stable monsoon weather arrives.
